Eataly at Sherway Gardens brings together restaurants, cafés, and a large Italian marketplace in one space, making it easy to enjoy a sit down meal in between exploring the various specialty goods in thes tore.

I visited Eataly Ristorante, one of their two on-site restaurants, to try their Italian Lunch special. It’s a two-course menu available until 5 pm and priced at $26 per person, making it an easy option for a relaxed midday break during a shopping trip.

For lunch, guests choose one antipasti and one main course, with options that range from comforting pasta dishes to lighter vegetable selections.
I began with the Zucchine Fritte featuring fried zucchini served with lemon aioli and flaky sea salt. The zucchini arrived hot and crisp, while the inside stayed tender. The lemon aioli added a light citrus note that made the dish easy to enjoy without feeling heavy.

Other antipasti options include bruschetta with whipped ricotta, roasted squash, and truffle honey on toasted bread; pistachio mortadella on toasted bread with pesto; or a smooth butternut squash soup finished with pumpkin seeds. Guests can also upgrade to burrata served with warm tomato sauce and grilled bread.
For my main, I chose the Tagliatelle al Ragù Toscano (with a $10 upgrade), featuring fresh pasta with Tuscan white ragù, roasted squash, and fried rosemary. The pasta was nicely cooked and well-coated with the sauce, which offered savoury flavour while still feeling appropriate for lunch. The roasted squash added mild sweetness, while fried rosemary gave small aromatic notes throughout the dish.

Other main course choices include Ravioli di Zucca filled with squash and served with butter, sage, and walnuts; Spaghetti all’Arrabbiata in a spicy tomato sauce; and Bucatini Cacio e Pepe with cheese and black pepper. Lighter options include kale salad, Caesar salad, or Ribollita vegetable soup, with grilled chicken, shrimp, or steak available as add-ons.
After the meal, it is easy to spend time exploring the different marketplace sections of Eataly. Counters dedicated to fresh pasta, cheeses and salumi, seafood, meats, and baked goods sit alongside shelves stocked with imported Italian pantry items, sauces, olive oils, and sweets.

Overall, I found Eataly to be a comfortable place to slow down, enjoy good food, and take a little piece of Italy with you before heading back out to the rest of the day.
